Lia makes the most masterful portraits in traditional oils, sometimes incorporating gold leaf; as well as in watercolours, ink and fabric collages.

Lia has also executed commissions of children with and without beloved pets; as well as prominent writers and the Dutch Royal Couple.

Lia is also a master of landscape painting and has made many works from nature including exquisite flower arrangements.
